Direct Correlation Between Diet and Depression San Francisco Chiropractor Comments
A new study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry revealed a direct correlation between depression and diet. What makes this study so interesting is that most previous studies on diet and depression focused primarily on individual nutrients rather then overall diet.
These researchers defined 2 primary dietary patterns: “whole food oriented” (heavily loaded by vegetables, fruits and fish) and “processed foods oriented” (heavily loaded by sweetened desserts, fried food, processed meat, refined grains and high-fat dairy products).
The results were not surprising, those with the highest intake of processed foods had the most complaints of clinical depression. If you need more motivation to eat well read any of Michael Pollen’s books.

Interesting article about the correlation with what you eat and how you feel. I’ve seen study after study confirm that eating a balanced diet with fruits, vegetables, grains, meat (and a small amount of sweets) is the best approach to loosing weight and reducing depression, especially later in life. Nice find.
